Julia Schiffman is a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker, psychotherapist, sex educator, and community activist. She is the co-author of the book Women and Kink: Relationships, Reasons, and Stories. Julia earned her bachelor's degree from the University of San Diego in Theology and Religious Studies, emphasizing Eastern Religion, and her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. She received a dual-track certificate of completion in Sex Therapy & Sexuality Education from the Sexual Health Certificate Program (SHCP) at the University of Michigan. In San Diego, California, Julia provides therapy services in her private practice, specializing in sex therapy and LGBT couples therapy. She focuses on interpersonal issues and serves those from gender, sexually, and relationally diverse (GSRD) backgrounds. For more than a decade, she has volunteered for various causes, including the San Diego LGBT Community Center, and is the Outreach Coordinator and Board Member for the Center for Positive Sexuality.
