The Beast Keepers is my first novel and I am delighted to announce that it was a finalist in the The Wishing Shelf Book Awards in the UK, as well as being a finalist in the 2023 SPR Book Awards. It was also nominated for an Eric Hoffer Award, an Ohioana Award, an IPPY award, a Rubery Book Award. Winners for those contests have not been announced yet. Check back for updates! A lifelong dog lover, Julie began training dogs professionally in 2003 and after moving to Ohio in 2006, she started A Positive Connection Dog Training. She retired in 2022, but still has a podcast, Your Family Dog, that centers on helping families love living with dogs and a line of cards and other items based on her drawings from a pet’s point of view and her perspective that the world should be a little more animal-centric. Now that she's retired, she spends her time writing, traveling, reading, hiking, and playing with her nine grandkids.
