Justin Garson, PhD, is the author of The Madness Pill (St. Martin's Press, 2026), a rollicking history of Dr. Solomon Snyder—an unheralded genius whose experiments with mind-altering drugs transformed how we understand the causes and treatments of schizophrenia. He has also written widely on mind, madness, and evolution, including Madness: A Philosophical Exploration (Oxford, 2022) and The Biological Mind (Routledge, 2022). He writes for Psychology Today, Aeon, and Mad in America on humanistic alternatives to medical psychiatry. Justin is Professor of Philosophy at Hunter College and The Graduate Center, City University of New York. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and children.
