Justin Maelzer was born in Johannesburg in 1974 and grew up in the West of England. He studied Marine and Freshwater Biology at Queen Mary, University of London, and now works as a graphic designer. In his spare time, he plays guitar, writes and records music, and runs long distances. Side Effects is his first published novel. His second novel, Death of a Camgirl will be released in April 2026, written under the name J G Maelzer.
