Jörg Mehrwald writes nonfiction and novels. His work centers on an evolutionary-biological observation of humans, nature, and society. His most recent nonfiction books, "Your Body Expects: The Natural Path to Longevity" and "„The Forest in Us - What Trees Know About Human Communities" ("Forest & Human"), apply biological structures to everyday and social behavior. The novel "Three Roommates, One Robot, and Zero Privacy" opens his series on living with humanoid robots. Before this, he wrote twelve novels, including two as co-author with prominent German TV figures – both books were adapted for the screen. He wrote gags for prime-time comedy, screenplays for sitcoms, performed cabaret on the island of Hiddensee, directed documentaries, and received a cinema culture award and a film prize. But that's all on Wikipedia. This is about what comes next. He lives on the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea and hosts the satirical podcast "Der Mensch in freier Wildbahn" on evolutionary biology, but his thinking about evolution and longevity goes beyond the microphone – which explains why his robots feel so human and his humans so in need of an upgrade. When he's not writing, he welcomes international visitors at the world-famous chalk cliffs in Jasmund National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. His heart belongs to social comedy and romantic comedy. He intends to stay loyal to that genre – and has a whole lineup of book projects planned. His new books typically appear in both German and English editions.
