Karl Monger is a retired US Army Major who served in infantry and Ranger assignments. He is an author, award winning video producer, podcast host, founder and Executive Director of GallantFew, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit formed in 2010 dedicated to helping veterans transition to civilian lives full of purpose and hope. He also owns Transitur, LLC, providing personal growth coaching and veteran issues consulting. He has received awards from the Small Business Administration and several veteran organizations for his leadership in veteran issues, but the title he treasures the most is “Ranger Shepherd”, bestowed by a former CIA operative and Ranger veteran. He is a graduate of Wichita State University as well as many of the toughest courses the US Army has to offer: Ranger, Jumpmaster, Airborne and Air Assault Schools, the Command and General Staff Officers Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Armor Officer Basic Course, and the US Air Force Air Ground Operations School. His awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, the Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, Southwest Asia Service Medal with bronze campaign star, Korea Service Medal, the Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist and Air Assault Wings. He is married to the amazing former Sara Callender, has two daughters, two grandsons, and two dogs. He is an active Rotarian and also volunteers on his town’s Crime Control and Prevention District board. His book “Common Sense Transition” was published in 2017 and is available on Amazon.
