Kate writes poetry, picture books, and middle grade fiction. She has written a number of "Little Naturalist" board books in the BabyLit series, as well. The naturalists range from John Muir to Greta Thunberg and include figures like Jane Goodall and Wangari Maathai, a Kenyan woman famous for empowering poor women to plant millions of trees. Kate has written four beautiful books of poetry, most recently Today I Am a River, a companion book to Breathe and Be: A Book of Mindfulness Poems. Kate lives in Utah, where she is a Reading Specialist working with struggling readers. She also teaches college students how to write. Kate loves wild sunflowers, clouds, and Sequoia National Park.
