Kathy Smith Carter is a wife of twenty years, a daughter, a sister, and a mom to three Labradors. She has been an elementary school counselor for fourteen years and uses her dogs as therapy dogs in her counseling sessions. She was born with a rare skin disease and experienced many challenges as a result. As she reached middle age, she found herself struggling with depression and anxiety related to her traumatic experiences as a child. She wrote this book in the hope of helping others to overcome their own trauma and experience victory.
