I am Keisha Henry, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychotherapist, author, wife and mother. I consider myself to be a quirky but warm and caring for others a great deal. I believe this shows up in my family and my practice. My kids say something like “mom that just went right over your head.” My practice community say things like, “you are different or where are you from?” In either space, just being myself has always allowed me to better connect with others. When I am not writing, you will find me with my family at the beach or church. In my quiet time, I enjoy knitting, getting a workout in at the gym or catching a swim at the beach or community pool with my friends. I love snorkeling too. :) Fun fact, I am an adult swimmer—only 7 years now. So, I love to get in the water. It’s in these quiet moments or moments with my family I realize the gifts I have—my family, their presence, and my own together. They believe that my writing is overdue and has a purpose beyond what I imagine. My daughters always say, “mom you are doing God’s work.” With their encouragement I created “Healing of The Heart”: Lessons from my Journey, my first book. This project reminds me of the importance of my voice and that of other women!
