Kell Shaw writes dark urban fantasy where the modern world collides with ancient magic. A lifelong tabletop roleplayer, he sets his stories in his Vestiges of Magic universe, inspired by his obsession with Shadowrun, The Lord of the Rings, and The World of Darkness. His stories follow morally complex characters who make terrible bargains and survive them.

His current two series are the Revenant Records, about a young woman who returns from the dead to solve her own murder twenty years later, and the Cambion Chronicles, a saga of two half-demon sisters, both assassins, born centuries apart.

Identifying as queer, Kell writes diverse characters shaped by the weight of their choices, not defined by their love lives. He lives in Sydney, Australia with his partner and two cats.
