Kenneth lives in the ghost town suburb of a ghost town in the mountains of central Arizona, land his great-grandfather (currently buried upstream) worked back when the world was young. It is here he has returned to in order to raise his autistic daughter in the comfort of family. In those moments when he's not diligently gathering pine-cones for her to throw into the stream or the lake further down, he ponders those ruins of his childhood play, those relics from days gone by, and speculates what left them thus. In truth, he knows and it was all really boring... Hell, they didn't even have a brothel in this damn ghost town but had to bring them in from Prescott! so he makes up his own stories. In order to remain in good graces with the few scattered neighbors, the name of this community has been changed to Baird's Holler and the creek from the Lynx to the Bajazid... and the history outside his bedroom window is a lot more fun now.
