About the Author – Kerre Burley

Kerre Burley is a beacon of hope for families striving to transform chaos into connection. With over 50 years of experience, she has dedicated her life to empowering parents to nurture resilient, confident, and emotionally secure children. As the founder of the International SleepTalk® Training Academy (ISTA) and Fixing Dysfunctional Families, Kerre's mission is clear: to equip professionals and parents with the tools and support they need to overcome obstacles and mend family relationships.

Kerre's passion stems from personal experience. After decades of working with families in the sport and recreation arena, she navigated the demands of running her own businesses while parenting four challenging sons—each needing specialist support—without family guidance or support. It was a struggle yet through perseverance, Kerre discovered the SleepTalk® Process, a simple yet effective parenting solution, which she successfully used on her youngest son. The transformative results inspired her lifelong commitment to sharing gentle, non-invasive, and life-changing strategies with other families worldwide.

Through her fun engaging presentations, one-on-one consultations, trainings, and workshops, Kerre equips family-centered professionals, parents, and carers to address both major and minor childhood challenges safely and effectively. From social anxiety, behavioral issues to developmental concerns, she provides real life tools to foster nurturing environments where children thrive and families reconnect and turn their lives around.

Kerre wanted to create a parenting book that breaks away from the heavy-handed, guilt-laden, and overly scientific approaches dominating the market. Instead, this book offers a light, fun, and relatable perspective, giving parents practical strategies they can actually use without feeling judged or overwhelmed.

Inside, you’ll find guidance on everyday parenting challenges—from sleepless nights to sibling squabbles—presented in an approachable, non-judgmental style. Kerre combines years of experience with warmth and wit, encouraging parents to embrace imperfection, celebrate small victories, and connect meaningfully with their children.

Kerre's playful tone doesn’t compromise its depth: it is packed with actionable advice grounded in real-life experiences, helping parents just relax, take a breath and realise they are doing ok. Yes the journey needs to be joyful but sustainable, parenting is one of life’s most rewarding—yet most chaotic—adventures, Kerre merely guidesyou with stories, humor, heart, and real-world wisdom.

Beyond her work with families, Kerre is a Master Trainer, an International Keynote Speaker, a NLP master practitioner, transformational SleepTalk® Trainer, a child protection Facilitator for Early Year Educators. She brings a holistic approach to parental development. Today, she divides her time between Australia, Vietnam, and the UK, working virtually with families across the globe, continuing her mission to inspire harmony, understanding, and lasting change in homes everywhere.
