Keza MacDonald is the video games editor at The Guardian, for whom she also writes the 'Pushing Buttons' newsletter; she previously worked pretty much everywhere in the games media, including as editor-in-chief of Kotaku UK. She has spoken about games extensively on radio and television and has presented a Radio 4 documentary on the history of games. She is the author of the bestselling book Super Nintendo and co-author of You Died: The Dark Souls Companion. MacDonald grew up in Edinburgh, left home at sixteen to work on a video games magazine, and hasn't lost interest in them since. She has spent nearly two decades as a journalist immersed in video game culture, writing about how they are made, how they are played, and how they connect people to each other all over the world.
