When Shursen's 7th grade teacher caught Shursen writing instead of paying attention, she read the story aloud to the class, hoping to embarrass Kimberly. However, when she finished, the teacher smiled and said, ‘That was pretty good.” Shursen has written two full-blown musical plays produced by independent investors, including the Broadway Theater Company Jujamcyn, owners and operators of seven Broadway theaters. The second book of the chilling paranormal series Miracle is in the making. Shursen and her now five-year-old grandson she adopted at birth are busy co-authoring Shursen's first children'a book, My Great Big Awesome Family.
