Hey there Boss Ladies (and Boss Dudes)! I'm Krista-a Boss Lady, author, adventurer and investor. I am from sunny Florida and love living near the ocean and warm weather. When I first graduated from college, I had big dreams of being a stockbroker on Wall Street. Well, life had a different and even cooler plan for me. I started my career working for a mutual fund company and learning so much about finance I am still so thankful that I somehow landed that job in my early 20s. It was that first job that helped me understand there is so much to know about money and so few of us actually know what it is we need to know. Eventually, corporate America culture was not my style, so I became a serial entrepreneur and have owned or currently own: trucking companies, a packaging and supply company, a trash removal company, a watersports park, real estate investment company, a bar, a pedal pub, a bicycle company and started and franchised a paint and sip company. My love of starting, growing and selling businesses is insatiable. I don't think I will ever stop. Over the years, I found that many of my girlfriends would come to me asking for advice about how to save for retirement, mortgages, life insurance and more. Many of them would tell me that they didn't "understand money" or that their significant other handled the finances. Two major events happened that made me realize I had to write a book about money for women: 1. My best friend's husband unexpectedly died of a heart attack. At the time, my BFF had no idea if her husband had life insurance, if they had a mortgage (and how much they owed if so or even where to send the payments), how they were paying for their son's college...or anything else involving their finances. She had to deal with the loss of her husband and try to figure all of that out. I had to help her. And 2. The Great Recession. Women are naturally less risky (not all, but most) and I think some of what happened in the housing crisis could have been lessened if women had more say in money decisions. I absolutely love it when I can help another chick become debt-free and start growing wealth. In fact, I have a FREE get debt-free workbook here on my website: https://www.bossladyinvestor.com/ Or if you want to deep dive, check out the free online course I offer at The Boss Lady Investor™ University: https://the-boss-lady-investor-university.teachable.com/ Have an entrepreneurial spirit? Shoot me a message and pick my brain boss lady! So I wrote a book geared towards my girlfriends and their daughters and shared what I know about finances. Boss Ladies-the book is so much fun! My co-author Grace Everitt, helped me bring to life my stories of how I created my Boss Lady life and became a millionaire before I was 40 years old. I share incredibly embarrassing stories while explaining finances in a way that I don't think has been done before. The book is a starter book on finances and I hope that at least one woman benefits from the things I share. Grace and I are doing a whole Boss Lady series-the next book is The Boss Lady Real Estate Investor so keep your eyes peeled for that one. I want to leave you with this. I never knew I would be an author. Life presents opportunities and each of us has a skill set to share. Whatever your dream is-work hard and you can do it. Boss ladies, you got this!
