I started writing as a dare, making a fantasy story out of my daily high school life and selling the story to my classmates at a dollar a page. Then life got busy with work and college, social obligations, marriage, family and all the stuff they bring. Fifteen years went by before I wrote another story. I challenged myself to write something to submit for a writer's workshop at a convention, which lead to By The Hair and a horrible experience with the original publisher. I got my rights back eventually rewrote the original book and split into a trilogy, Maiden's Plait, Witch's Tangle and Ladies' Locks. I wrote Lies that Blind, the first book in my Family Vamkudza series as part of a NaNoWriMo experience. I later wrote Matryoshka and Ring and a Prey'r, (Family Vamkudza book two), in NaNoWriMo endeavours. I wrote Perfect as a writing exercise with my students and decided to publish it when I published their works.
