Laura Cody has been a practicing psychiatrist for thirty years. Over that time, she’s had the privilege of evaluating thousands of patients—exploring their strengths, fears, motivations, and resilience—and writing just as many case histories. About ten years ago, she discovered she loves writing fiction almost as much, and since then her stories have earned awards, including Elegant Literature’s Writing Award for New Writers, and appeared in journals, online literary sites, and multiple anthologies. Besides being a psychiatrist and writer, Laura is a wife, mother, devourer of all things bookish and all things chocolate, make-believe chef, runner, hiker, grunge fan, sunset enthusiast, and unapologetic cat-lover. She lives in New York with her family and the two fur babies who run the household.
