The CEO of McBassi & Company, Dr. Laurie Bassi is an internationally-renowned HR analytics expert. In 2001, she founded McBassi, a leader in using behavioral economics to improve organizational performance. She works with McBassi clients, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100s, to help them unleash human capability within their organizations. In the earlier years of her career, Laurie served as vice president for research at ASTD, director of research at Saba Software, director of two US government commissions, and a tenured professor of economics and public policy at Georgetown University. She is also the chair of the board at Bassi Investments – an investment firm that invests in companies with superior human capital management capabilities. As an HR analytics expert and thought leader, Laurie is a much-sought speaker who has engaged audiences on every continent except Antarctica. As a still-recovering academic, she is a prolific author, with over 90 published papers and books. Her most recent books include the HR Analytics Handbook and Good Company: Business Success in the Worthiness Era, the winner of the 2012 Nautilus Gold Award for the best business/leadership book of the year, and selected as one of the year’s top business books by Soundview. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University, a M.S. in industrial relations from Cornell University, and a B.S. in mathematics from Illinois State University.
