Leo: Born in Hawaii then grew to five years old living in a small stop the furthest north you could drive at the time, in Circle City, Alaska. Life was living with the Alabaskans, dog sledding across the Yukon river and eating Moose meat all winter. Spent grades 3 thru 5 in Mesa Arizona, 6 thru 8th grade in the White Mountains in northeast Arizona and High School in southwest Missouri. As a child we never spent more than 2 years in one place. I made new friends almost each year and came to know a few cultures and ways of living life. Mathematics is my degree and grateful for six wonderful children. Mathematics was my interest, not English, an oversight I would remedy later in life. After graduation with my degree in Mathematics, worked for an electric municipality buying and selling electricity for over 10 years, then turned around two large corporations. Because of the corporate appreciating for the turnarounds, I set out on my own and have never looked back. I celebrate all those who find the courage to step out on their own and make fresh tracks in the snow. Debbie Hamblin's extraordinary life experiences inspired her to share a story she never imagined telling. Born and raised in the deserts of Mesa, Arizona, Debbie moved to Monett, Missouri, for high school—where she first met Leo. After years apart, filled with separate paths and profound lessons, they reunited, embarking on what she calls "the adventure of a lifetime." Though opening up has always felt frightening, Debbie found unexpected joy in writing about the deeply intimate dimensions of their journey. In her everyday life, Debbie enjoys playing with her knucklehead dog, Rocket, learning more about health and wellness, and cherishing all the time she can get with her favorite human on this planet, Leo.
