Leslie Doyle is the author of Essential Green Roof Construction and resides in Toronto, Ontario. In 2006, Leslie was searching for more meaningful work and left her executive position in the creative sector to focus on her passion for green roofs. Three years later, Toronto became the first city in North America to have a comprehensive greenroof bylaw. The city experienced an explosion of interest in greenroofs and Leslie became a leader in both residential and commercial projects across southern Ontario. In her book, Essential Green Roof Construction, Leslie has distilled her formal education in natural building, ecological restoration, and industry certification in greenroof design and construction, along with the lessons learned from 15 years of professional experience from herself as well as from suppliers and construction professionals from across Canada. It’s the perfect guide for the do-it yourself builder. Leslie’s work has been featured in the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and CBC among others. She regularly speaks and has taught at Fleming College and Endeavour Centre.
