Liam Raxter grew up in Upstate New York, writing short stories when he probably should have been doing homework. Comic books hooked him first, stacks of them all through his teens, and the fantasy paperbacks that followed in his twenties (Eragon, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings) finished the job. They all opened doors to other worlds, and he's been chasing that feeling ever since.

Then real life showed up, in the best way. He joined the Navy, bounced around the Northeast for a while (some years in Maine, some in Massachusetts), married the love of his life, and raised a few kids. For a long stretch, that was more than enough adventure on its own, and the writing waited its turn.

The kids are teenagers and young adults now, mostly off building lives of their own (and home often enough to raid the fridge). Life has opened back up, and the stories he'd set aside finally have room to breathe. When he isn't writing them, he's usually deep in a game he can take at his own pace: Assassin's Creed Valhalla, The Witcher 3, Genshin Impact, the Elder Scrolls. The big open-world kind where you wander off and the map never seems to end. His heroes tend to travel the same way.

His Outcast trilogy (Ascension, Reckoning, and the finale, Absolution) follows Jason Reeves, an underdog who trusts no one and has to survive alone in a world that turns out to be more real and a lot deadlier than a game. Liam set the end of that world in the same Northeast he grew up in, which felt about right.

What he loves about a good story hasn't changed since he was a kid: it takes you somewhere you could never go otherwise, and lets you do things you'd never get to do. That's what he's after with every book, for anyone who wants to come along.
