Lucy Adkins is the co-author of WRITING IN COMMUNITY: SAY GOODBYE TO WRITER'S BLOCK AND TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE, which won an "IPPY" in the Independent Publishers Book Awards, and THE FIRE INSIDE: A COMPANION FOR THE CREATIVE LIFE. Her poetry has been published in many journals and anthologies, and her chapbook of poetry, ONE LIFE SHINING: ADDIE FINCH, FARMWIFE, was published by Pudding House Press. Her latest chapbook, TWO-TONED DRESS IS the winner of the 2019 Blue Light Poetry Prize and a Nebraska Book Award. In 2020, she was named co-winner of the Lincoln Nebraska Mayor's Award for Artistic Excellence in Literature. She grew up in Nebraska, received her undergraduate degree at Auburn University in Alabama, and her MFA in creative writing from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She lives with her husband and Scottie dog in Lincoln, where she writes, presents writing workshops, and spends a lot of time on her hands and knees in her garden.
