Dr. Lynn Sally is a writer and practicing artist who loves popular culture. She received a PhD in Performance Studies from New York University and a MA in Gender Studies and Feminist Theory from The New School for Social Research. Her first book, "Fighting the Flames at Coney Island: The Spectacular Performance of Fire" is published by Routledge Press. Her second book, "Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation" is published by Rutgers University Press. She has published peer-reviewed articles and reviews in the Journal of American Drama and Theatre, Journal of Popular Culture, Senses & Society, New York History, and others.
