As a life-long marketing guy it came as a complete shock to me when I found a fictional story had been growing in my head. In fact, while I appreciate good films, tv and theater, I have to admit I have not been a consistent consumer of the written word. My reticence may have something to do with my borderline dyslexia and undiagnosed ADD, but my fear harkens back to my college English Lit class when I was forced to read from the Norton Anthology, a cinder block of classics in 3-point type printed on tissue paper–truly harrowing. In any case, I had an idea for a compelling story (RIFT) in 2007 and it took another eight years before I got up the nerve to start writing it down, followed by five years of tinkering. Now, I have the bug and I'm working on the follow up to RIFT as well as a few other short stories. The inspiration for my stories comes from my own observations and experiences as an average human being trying to make sense of himself, relationships and the world. I think that should give me enough to write about for a while.
