Maia Shibutani is a two-time Olympic medalist, writer, producer, speaker, consultant, and Sports Envoy for the U.S. State Department. In 2018, she and her brother, Alex Shibutani, made Olympic history by becoming the first ice dancers of Asian descent and the first team of color to medal at the Winter Olympic Games. They are also the first sibling duo to win two Olympic medals in Ice Dance. The “ShibSibs” are recognized for their close sibling relationship, dynamic personalities, and storytelling abilities. Their first book together, Kudo Kids: The Mystery of the Masked Medalist was released in 2020. The sequel, Kudo Kids: The Mystery in Manhattan was released in 2021. Amazing: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Who Inspire Us All is being released on April 18th, 2023.
