Mark DeCarlo: A FORK ON THE ROAD: 400 CITIES / ONE STOMACH

You are who eat… with. Leveraging a comedic career on Los Angeles morning radio and a string of hit shows (Studs, Big Deal, X Show,) Mark hit the road for the Travel Channel’s “Taste of America with Mark DeCarlo.”

For four seasons, Mark rode the road less traveled in search of delicious food and the unsung American zealots who champion personal recipes and down-home stories over mass produced mush. It took 400 cities, and a lot of napkins, but through it all, a portrait of America… and its genuinely strange people emerged. These hilarious characters are profiled in Mark’s first book, “A FORK ON THE ROAD,” to be published by Lyons Press in November 2010.

In many ways, “Taste of America” is similar to “Studs,” Fox’s hit relationship show Mark hosted for 600 episodes. Whether discussing fig dates or blind dates, Mark enjoys interviewing ‘real people’ while having fun, not making fun. Getting ‘civilians’ to open up and share intimate details of their lives in order to create an interesting, amusing and involving show requires a finesse that after 1000 hours of network television hosting Mark continues to enjoy.

When he’s not out using forks, Mark hosts Corporate Events, performs Stand Up Comedy, and fronts his blues band, OLD BLUES EYES in clubs and festivals around the country. He is also in demand as a comedic spokesman for American products like; Tide, Tide-to-Go, Kingsford, Stryker Medical, McDonalds and other great companies.

And if you have children, he's in your house every day as the voice of hapless HUGH NEUTRON on the Nickelodeon hit series, "Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius."
