Dr. Mark Rutland is an author, educator, pastor, missionary, and internationally recognized leadership speaker. In 1977, he and his wife, Alison, founded Global Servants, an international missions and humanitarian organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel and serving vulnerable communities around the world. Throughout his ministry, Dr. Rutland has served as senior pastor of Calvary Assembly in Orlando, Florida, and as president of both Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, and Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A native of Texas, he studied at the University of Maryland and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and earned his Ph.D. from California Graduate School of Theology. Through Global Servants, Dr. Rutland has traveled extensively in missionary evangelism and leadership ministry. He helped establish long-term ministries in Ghana and Thailand, including the House of Grace, founded in Chiang Rai, Thailand, in 1988 to provide a safe and nurturing home for tribal girls. He remains a sought-after speaker at churches, conferences, universities, and leadership seminars throughout the United States and abroad. Dr. Rutland is the author of numerous books on spiritual growth, leadership, healing, prayer, biblical character, and Christian living. His works include Of Kings and Prophets, Launch Out Into the Deep, The Finger of God, Hanging by a Thread, Behind the Glittering Mask, Streams of Mercy, God of the Valleys, Nevertheless, Dream, Character Matters, Power, Holiness, Resurrection, Most Likely to Succeed, ReLaunch, 21 Seconds to Change Your World, David the Great, and Courage to Be Healed. Mark and Alison Rutland have been married since 1967. They have one son, two daughters, five grandsons, and four granddaughters.
