Martin Rowe is the executive director of the Culture & Animals Foundation (cultureandanimals.org). He co-founded Lantern Books (1999) and Lantern Publishing & Media (2020)—see lanternpm.org. He is the author of The Polar Bear in the Zoo: A Speculation; The Elephants in the Room: An Excavation; The Animals Are Leaving Us (with photographs by Jo-Anne McArthur); The Trumpiad, a satirical epic poem; and Nicaea: A Book of Correspondences. He is co-author of Right Off the Bat: Baseball, Cricket, Literature, and Life (with Evander Lomke) and Lifelong Running (with Ruth Heidrich). He is also the editor of a non-fiction anthology, The Way of Compassion: Vegetarianism, Environmentalism, Animal Advocacy, and Social Justice; and Running, Eating, Thinking: A Vegan Anthology.
