A native of the San Fernando Valley, Matt Graham draws on his ten years working as a prosecutor and thirty-three years as a California state judge for the stories in his Van Nuys Courthouse Legal Thriller Series. His debut novel, the award-winning and highly rated Hidden Behind the Robe: A Courthouse Thriller, was an instant hit with readers and critics. Graham's second book, Special Directives, debuted as the #1 seller in new legal thrillers on Amazon.

Graham attended Van Nuys High School, California State University, Northridge, and Loyola University School of Law. He is married, with two children and four grandchildren. Graham founded the Teen Court Program at Van Nuys High School in 2004. Following his retirement from the bench, Graham worked as an adjunct professor at CSUN, teaching criminal law and justice.
