Matt Griffin was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1979. He grew up in Co.Meath, surrounded by the ancient places that populate the Irish countryside. This proximity to the ancient gave him a lifelong love of Irish folklore and mythology, which he later applied to his award-winning book series, The Ayla Trilogy. Matt is also an internationally recognised illustrator, with clients including Disney, Warner Bros, Penguin, Harper Collins and more. His combined passions for writing and art have lead to numerous accolades and a reputation for innovative and distinctive work. He lives in Ennis, Co.Clare with his wife and two daughters.
