From his paraplegic mother to his career as a firefighter and paramedic, to his own struggles with mental illness, he has learned the uphill battle of the mind when affected by tragedy. He knows what it takes to reflect upon oneself, doing everything possible to provide the best life for those who are closest while overcoming internal battles. Matt uses his experiences to create deliciously dark, engaging, and deeply flawed characters, drawing the reader into their world and connecting them in a way that keeps them wanting more.
