Meredith Heller teaches Queer Studies in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Northern Arizona University. She holds a Ph.D. in Theater with a doctoral emphasis in Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She specializes in critical identity studies, queer theory, digital media, and drag. Queering Drag: Redefining Discourse on Gender-Bending is the winner of the Popular Culture Association's 2021 John Leo and Dana Heller Award for Best Book in LGBTQ Studies and one of NBC's "10 LGBTQ books to watch out for in 2020."
