I’m a retired television news executive. I spent 40 years working in local TV news in Detroit, New York, and Philadelphia. I was also part of team of journalists who created Court TV. I write a blog, thearcherjournal.com on journalism, politics, language, and life. I’ve also published blog pieces on Smerconish.com.

“Rescue” tells us about a father haunted by the death of his child who is suddenly faced with saving another little girl.
“Redemption” brings back memories of terror and guilt for two friends who are again faced with a man with a gun.
“Boy in the Crowd” is historical fiction about a boy who acts to save his hero and change history.
“Brother in Black” tells the story of a teacher who defies the dark side of authority, and stands up to evil.
“Martin Collins” is a man who asks for a second chance at life, and gets a surprising answer.
