Michael Dane was a investigator for over 25 years. There is nothing he doesn’t know about sitting in parked cars, eating petrol station sandwiches and the irretrievable stupidity of the average criminal. These days he writes tightly plotted crime thrillers drawing upon his ten years as a Customs & Excise officer and his time spent on investigations in locations as exotic as Kazakhstan, Cairo, Istanbul and Doncaster. His Frank McBride series follows the cases of a customs investigation team aided, and usually complicated, by a group of highly qualifed and experienced pensioners from Rutland who feel no obligation to play by the rules.
