Michael J. Edmond spent his childhood in the Colombian jungle, the son of missionaries, in a place where the wildlife and the guerrillas were both real problems. Two of the men the FARC killed were his Bible teacher and his dorm dad. He has since been an Air Force staff sergeant, a college English instructor, a volleyball coach, a Taekwondo black belt, a construction foreman, and a father of six he helped homeschool. He holds an MFA in creative writing. He writes fantasy where the danger, the fighting, and the moral cost are checked against something he's actually seen.
