For two decades, I worked inside Indiana's political and legislative ecosystem — as a lobbyist, public affairs strategist, and campaign manager. I helped pass Indiana's Hate Crimes Law, built coalitions, and advised clients across energy, healthcare, telecom, transportation, and more. In 2021, I traded the statehouse for the classroom. I now teach at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where I bring real-world policy, communication, and advocacy experience into courses that prepare students to lead and persuade in complex environments. Outside the classroom, I write. My weekly Substack, "Between Us," covers communication, culture and connecting better with each other. My first novel, "Flipping the Circle," was published by River Grove Books in 2021. My second, "The Edge of Motherland," was published in 2026 by Manhattan Book Group. I earned my MS in Communication from Northwestern University in 2020 — a degree that deepened my thinking on how ideas travel, how narratives shape relationships, and how communication can be taught as a discipline, not just a skill.
