Michael P. Ross is a former company commander, intelligence agent, aerospace engineer, and technology innovator whose career placed him at the forefront of some of the most advanced programs of the modern era. Friends and colleagues simply call him “The Rocket Scientist.”

Over several decades, Ross worked on projects connected to the Space Shuttle program, the Tomahawk cruise missile, military aviation systems, advanced robotics, fiber optics, CAD/CAM technologies, software algorithms, and early artificial intelligence during its formative years. His work combined engineering, physics, systems thinking, and emerging technologies long before many became part of everyday life.

Now retired, Ross brings that real-world scientific and engineering experience into his fiction. His novels combine hard science, large-scale cosmic ideas, and deeply human struggles, exploring how humanity responds when confronted with impossible choices and existential threats.

The Day the Moon Disappeared is his debut novel and the first book in an ambitious science fiction trilogy exploring survival, consciousness, sacrifice, and the future of civilization.
