Mitch Prinstein Ph.D. is Chief Science Officer of the American Psychological Association and the John Van Seters Distinguished Professor of Psychology and the Director of Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mitch’s Peer Relations Lab, first at Yale University and then UNC, has conducted research on popularity and peer relations for almost 20 years. Mitch has served as the President for the Society for the Science of Clinical Psychology, the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, and the Editor of the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Mitch and his work have been featured in over 200 pieces in outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, the Los Angeles Times, CNN, U.S. News & World Report, Time magazine, New York magazine, Newsweek, Reuters, Family Circle, Real Simple, All Things Considered, and in two TEDx talks.
