Murry Schekman just finished a stint as the Superintendent of Schools in the Pajaro Valley USD. This final job capped a K-12 career and instruction at SJSU. Schekman has 3 kids and 4 grandchildren. He was the principal of 3 middle schools, 2 comprehensive high schools and a continuation school. He served as a Director, Assistant Superintendent and then Superintendent after teaching fulltime at SJSU for 8 years. His final year in his career enhanced his perspective and vision which led to this book. He tells real stories from the trenches of schools and connects the work being done with proven research. He shares ideas about leadership that works in forming school culture, bringing in the community and building an positive environment for kids' learning and teachers' teaching.
