Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, N. Sullivan first read the entire Sherlock Holmes series at age 12, and soon after picked up Edgar Alan Poe. Within two years he had begun writing short stories and developed a lifelong obsession with storytelling. He credits his Western New York upbringing with giving him an appreciation for "people who grin when they fight," and interesting but understated characters.
Often writing 10-15 hours a day, Sullivan likens writing a story to creating a sculpture in clay, "you build a framework, slap on more than you need, then carve away everything that isn't necessary," he says.
His first book, Nickel City, was published in 2012 followed by three more mystery novels, Maquis, A Man Out Of Time, and The Man From Darke County, and an ongoing science fiction short story series, The Void Veil Chronicles.
