Dr. Nader Attalla is an Addiction Medicine and Family Medicine Specialist practicing in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and a licensed Psychiatrist in Egypt. Dr. Attalla came to Canada in 2013 and has continued his medical education in the field of addiction medicine and family medicine. He is a clinical lecturer at the University of Calgary, teaching medical students and residents how to address a patient’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. His experience in general and psychiatric medicine has provided patients with an increased awareness, of the importance of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs, as a measure of overall wellbeing. Dr. Attalla shares his knowledge and experience in both English and Arabic, at his clinic, on social media, and through scheduled talks, on the subjects of physical, mental, and spiritual health. He has created “The Soul Program,” with the help of other Calgary physicians and professionals, to help patients struggling with psychological difficulties and addictions. The program offers mental-health-awareness seminars, group-support therapy, individual counselling, and medication management. The focus is on seven spiritual principles that address struggles, with daily stress, as well as depression, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, personality disorders, trauma, anger, and sleep problems. He wrote this book to provide a roadmap for spiritual wellness and to help unlock our innate capacity for happiness, success, health, love, and inner peace.
