“Canal of Light” is the third book by Nikos Steves; his first book, a memoir, is “The Constant Procession.”

His second book, “The Very Fine Light” is a contemporary novel that takes place a few years before the new book, “Canal of Light.”

Nikos has held many jobs, which flavor his writing. He has done everything from dishwashing to managing the legal distribution of controlled drugs, before his college studies led to staff positions with PBS and then the cable-television industry in Los Angeles.

He moved to Atlanta to head a video production company. Nikos and his wife, Rita, who passed in 2023, raised their children there, and he still calls Atlanta home. That is, when he is not found somewhere along the lakes and rivers of New York State, and of course, the Erie Canal.
