Noel Forlini Burt teaches and lectures widely at the intersection of biblical studies and spiritual formation. Noel holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies and Early Christianity, with a concentration in Hebrew Bible (Drew University). She also holds two separate certifications centered in the area of spiritual theology, one in spiritual formation (The Upper Room Academy for Spiritual Formation) and one in spiritual direction (Truett Seminary). Noel's deep hope is to join knowledge, biblical studies, with vital piety, spiritual formation, in order to uncover the character and love of God through the biblical text, doing spiritually formative work in readers' lives. Noel has taught at various universities and seminaries across the country, and she remains a regular lecturer at Samford University, where she earned her bachelor's degree and M.Div. A spiritual director, frequent speaker and retreat leader, Noel resides in Birmingham, Alabama, with her husband.
