Nolen Gertz is Associate Professor of Applied Philosophy at the University of Twente. He is the Coordinator of the 4TU.Centre for Ethics and Technology’s Task Force on Risk, Safety and Security, and a Research Associate in Military Ethics at the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence at Case Western Reserve University. He is the author of The Philosophy of War and Exile (Palgrave 2014), Nihilism and Technology (Rowman & Littlefield International, 2018), and Nihilism (MIT Press, 2019). He received his PhD in Philosophy from The New School for Social Research. His work has appeared in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and Aeon.
