Patrick worked in advertising with some of the most globally recognised agencies and brands. Before that he served in the military. With an enduring fascination for history, and spurred on by two lockdowns, he took to writing.

His stories are generally fact-based military thrillers, fast-paced and exciting. They focus on camaraderie, valour and extraordinary feats of personal courage. In his novels, he enjoys having his protagonists meet many real people throughout history. Perfect for fans of Derek Robinson, Lee Jackson, Alan Savage, Len Deighton, James Holland and Griff Hosker.

Patrick's debut WW2 aviation thriller through Sapere Books was THE LIGHTNING AND THE FEW, telling the story of Jox McNabb, a Scottish schoolboy who earns his wings during his country's hour of need. The series continues with THE RAIDERS AND THE CROSS following Jox through the Blitz and onto the siege of Malta. In THE MAPLE AND THE BLUE, he is involved with the raid on Dieppe, before heading into battle in the Western Desert. Book 4 of the series, THE VULCAN AND THE STRAITS sees Jox's No. 111 Squadron involved in Operation Torch, the landings in Vichy North Africa, then Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily. Book 5, THE WIRE AND THE LINES, sees the invasion of Italy and Jox becomes a POW. The sixth in the series, THE RAPIDS AND THE ABBEY sees Jox at Salerno, Anzio and Monte Cassino. Book 7, THE HUNTERS AND THE WRATH was published in June 2026 and has Jox taking part in D-day where he faces the dreaded V-1 Doodlebugs.

Patrick's first stand-alone novel was published in October 2024, a paranormal thriller called THE BROOKWOOD BOYS. It tells the story of restless ghosts in a military cemetery and explores the tragic legacy of war on the living and the dead.

Patrick has also collaborated with fellow Sapere authors to create an anthology of short stories, telling the story of Dunkirk 1940 from different intertwined perspectives. A MIRACLE OF DELIVERANCE was published in April 2026.

Through Boldwood Books, Patrick will launch a new wartime series THE DEVIL'S BRIGADE in October 2026, inspired by the true story of the 1st Special Service Force, the forefathers of North American Special Forces.
