About the author: Peter Greene is the author of "The Adventures of Jonathan Moore Series" and The "Glasśigh of Ganymede Trilogy." GLASŚIGH of GANYMEDE TRILOGY: Light of Ganymede (2021), (book 2 and 3 coming soon). My first Science fiction book is a modern-day "Stranger in a Strange Land" with a twist or two. I think some stories have to be told in a setting that is not Earth. If you see our world as it is today, no matter what your political or social situation may be, we can all agree: it's a different place than it was just a few years ago. It is polarized. People are polarized. But some use their position to better the world, help others and bring justice. Light of Ganymede is an exciting and funny tale that touches on many subjects, but touching your heart is its best trait. ADVENTURES OF JONATHAN MOORE SERIES: Warship Poseidon (2010), Castle of Fire (2013), Paladin's War (2017) I've always loved the classic sea stories in Stevenson's "Treasure Island," Forester's "Horatio Hornblower" and O'Brian's "Jack Aubrey" series. The excitement of tall ships during the age of sail, traveling to unknown shores, racing across stormy seas, and hearing the roar of rippling broadsides always thrilled me. But I couldn't help thinking that for most of us, unless one had supporting texts and companion guides to get through all the jargon and technicalities, one could easily become lost–and maybe surrender to something easier to read. That would be too bad. So I did something about it. I kept the characters and the action historically accurate for a Nelson-era navy. Still, I took it easy on the terminology and more unsavory aspects of life at sea. And the things you do really need to know, well, wouldn't it be best to learn that along with the characters? The ones that started out as land-lubbers just like you and your kids? I also avoided all magic, superpowers, and paranormal material. That's all fun – but none of us will ever discover we have wizards or Olympians for parents or mystical abilities. For this series, I wanted to point out that real heroes do exist, and they have throughout history. The Adventures of Jonathan Moore books are about one would-be hero and his friends who try to succeed using only their courage, their wits, and industry alone – no magic necessary. I hope you enjoy these adventures and read more about this exciting period. Though I can never fill the shoes of Stevenson, Forester, or O'Brian, I can follow in their footsteps. Bio: Peter Greene was born in New York and spent his young life on Long Island and later in the Chicago area. In college, he won an Illinois Art Council grant for his touring play "Watermeyer". Graduating from Illinois State University with a BA in Theatre Education, he moved to California and had some success co-writing screenplays, having one optioned by 20th Century Fox. During over 40 years of working in the business world, he was a technical writer, a technical salesperson for supply-chain software, and a founding director of PETsMART, Inc. He continued to write short stories and screenplays during this time. In 2010 Greene self-published the young adult sea-faring adventure "Warship Poseidon", the first book in the "Adventures of Jonathan Moore" series, which won the Adventure Writers Competition's Clive Cussler Grandmaster Award and the Action-Adventure Book of the Year from the Independent Author Network. He followed with book two, "Castle of Fire", which won an Independent Author Network Finalist Award for Action/Adventure. The third book of the series, "Paladin's War" followed a year later and won the Chanticleer International Book Award for Historical Fiction. The entire Jonathan Moore series then won the Chanticleer Dante Rossetti Award for Young Adult Fiction Series. The entire "Adventures of Jonathan Moore" series is now available as audiobooks, all narrated by the award-winning actor and author Chris Humphreys. Greene’s new science fiction book, "Light of Ganymede" has been released and is available on Amazon. The book has won First Place Finalist in the Chanticleer Cygnus Awards, is a Shelf Unbound Top 100 Book of the Year, and is a Book Excellence Award Science Fiction Finalist.
