R. Ray Barnes is the author of the riveting book, Queen Pin: The Story of Yvonne Barnes and the Motown Records Bowlerettes, chronicling the true story of the first all-Black team of professional women bowlers who defeated the best white teams of pro female bowlers in the nation. He also authored 69 Ways to Better Relationships Sex & Love, and a series of upcoming poetic writings titled, Go Sit in A Corner and Think, One: An Easy Guide to Understanding God, Spirit & Love, and The Art of Poetry, Volumes 1 thru 4. He is also a featured actor appearing in several national TV Commercials, Movies, and TV shows. Ray has been a music producer and songwriter for over 40 years. Along with his partner, 3-time Grammy Award winner, Tony Coleman, they have written for, worked with, and produced celebrated music legends The Pointer Sisters, Lee Greenwood, Rita Coolidge, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Stevie Wonder, James Ingram, Cuba Godding and The Main Ingredient, Shalamar, Lakeside, Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge, Brian Holland of Holland, Dozier, Holland and many others. In addition, Ray created the Biblical-based board game Resurrection: The Life of Christ, and is the author of several feature-length screenplays and stage plays and an animated feature, The Adventures of Rap & Homeboy and the Hip Hop Posse. Ray is the winner of a 2019 Michigan Regional Emmy Award and an 8th Annual Eclipse Award as well as a recipient of numerous other Emmy Award nominations. He resides in the Metropolitan Los Angeles, California area with his wife, Diane.
