Rand Clark and his wife, Susan, make their home in Dayton, Maine, where they enjoy time with their four children and eleven grandchildren. In 2021—the Appalachian Trail’s centennial year—Clark completed his 2,193-mile thru-hike, followed by the 2,655-mile Pacific Crest Trail in 2024. He has also summited New England’s 67 “4,000-footers” and the region’s 100 highest peaks. Known on the trail as “Halftime,” Clark views hiking as a pause for reflection and renewal. His journeys connect him with diverse fellow hikers and the transformative power of the outdoors—an experience he shares through stories and photos that inspire others to discover their own trail adventure.
