Raquel M. R. Thomas is the visionary founder of BTV Streaming, a groundbreaking platform dedicated to amplifying independent films, series, and stories from BIPOC creators, positioning her at the forefront of inclusive media innovation. An award-winning author, screenwriter, director, producer, educator, and entrepreneur, Raquel is a powerful voice in literature, film, and education, crafting stories rooted in purpose, identity, family, survival, entrepreneurship, and the beauty and complexity of Black life.

She is the author of Bloodwater: The Crown, Book One of The Bloodwater Queendom Trilogy, a gripping crime drama that is also being developed as a television series. Her published works also include Unlocking a Broken Education System, Shifting into Purpose: The Journey to Entrepreneurship, What Becomes of a Broken Soul, and the children’s entrepreneurship series Wizzieville Adventures, including Let’s Make Lemonade to Go!, We Have a Store for Sure, End of Summer Super Sunday Bash, Lick’Up, Splash Dash Car Wash, and WizzLawn Care.

Beyond the page, Raquel is a screenwriter and filmmaker whose work includes PASTOR, Defining Measures, BLOODWATER, and the GLAAD Media Award-nominated docu-series TransWorld Atlanta. She is also a part of Roadmap Writers, where she continues to develop her voice and expand her work for television and film. Her creative mission is deeply connected to telling bold, unapologetic stories that center Black women, LGBTQ+ voices, family, faith, ambition, healing, and legacy.

Raquel is also a college professor, philanthropist, speaker, and founder of Dream Catchers Productions and Dream Catchers Foundation. Through her work in classrooms, communities, film, publishing, and streaming, she continues to build platforms where underrepresented voices are not only seen and heard, but celebrated.
