Rebecca Ryan left a career in teaching to pursue writing full-time, and now mostly spends her days making up stories - a ridiculous way to earn a living. She is the author of three novels, My (extra) Ordinary Life, The Philosophy of Love, and The Next Chapter. They're all about love. And death. And lots of other things like family, community, grief. But mostly, they're stories about love and death. Rebecca grew up in Hartlepool, where becoming an author never felt like a real possibility. Her childhood helped shape her belief that the arts are for everyone - we have to do more to improve access to them. And whilst a passion for STEM might have made her richer, Rebecca believes that life would be much less interesting without the arts. She now lives in Bradford, UK, with her three young children, an unholy number of notebooks, and an expansive collection of scatter cushions. And she wouldn't have it any other way.
